SSLP Host Families Needed!
The ND Club of Austin will once again sponsor a Notre Dame student to complete a Summer Service Learning Project in Austin at Heart House, a non-profit summer day program for low-income children. Our 2011 female SSLP student, Dea Satrio, is a freshman living in Pasquerilla West at Notre Dame.
Would you be willing to serve as a host family for this Notre Dame Student during the period of June 4 – August 6, 2011?
Basic Information:
- The Host Family is responsible for providing the SSLP Student with room & board during the time she stays in your home. Three meals need to be available for the student each day.
- Each Host Family must commit to at least 2 weeks of hosting (preferably four weeks) during the 8 week SSLP program (which will be approximately June 4 through August 6, 2011)
- The SSLP student will have her own car for transportation but it is preferable that the Host Family live within the greater metropolitan Austin area within reasonable commuting distance to at least one of the Heart House sites (in NE and South Austin).
- The Host family should plan to interact with the student, share meals with her, and show her some of the fun activities we have in Austin. It is not appropriate to ask the SSLP student to house-sit while you are out of town.
